What is Systemic Coaching?
Systemic Coaching looks at what is happening for you in the context of the people, relationships, work and circumstances around you. Rather than looking only at the immediate problem, we can explore what else may be influencing the situation, including expectations, roles, patterns and ways of working with others.
Sometimes we know that something isn't working, but it can be difficult to see why.
Taking time to look at the situation from different perspectives can help you understand what is happening and consider what you want to do differently.
My role is not to tell you what to do. I will ask questions, listen and sometimes challenge your thinking, so that you can look at the situation in a different way and work out what feels right for you.
1-to-1 Coaching
One-to-one coaching gives you dedicated time to focus on something that matters to you.
You may be:
-
Navigating a change or transition
-
Feeling stuck or unsure about your next step
-
Managing competing demands
-
Dealing with a difficult or complex situation
-
Exploring how you work with others
-
Facing an important decision
-
Noticing patterns that keep repeating
-
Wanting to step back and look at a situation differently
-
Sessions are shaped around what you bring. We can focus on the immediate situation while also looking at the people, relationships and circumstances that may be part of it.
1-to-1 Constellation Mapping
Making relationships and dynamics visible. Constellation Mapping is another way of looking at a situation. It can help make relationships, dynamics and patterns easier to see when they are difficult to describe in words.
Using figures to represent people, roles, situations or other elements, we can map what is happening and look at the situation from different positions.
This can be useful when you feel that you understand the situation on one level, but something still doesn't quite make sense.
Constellation Mapping can be used as a standalone coaching session or as part of an ongoing coaching programme.
What to Expect
Before we start coaching, we will agree a coaching contract. This sets out how we will work together, including confidentiality, boundaries, fees, cancellations and what you can expect from the coaching relationship.
At the beginning, we will discuss what you would like to work on and agree whether a single session or a number of sessions would be more appropriate. This will depend on what you are bringing to coaching and how much you would like to explore. The arrangement can be reviewed as we go.
Some sessions may be focused on a particular situation, decision or question where you are looking for a sounding board. Other times, you may want to spend more time working through something more complex.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
There is no set number of coaching sessions. I offer one-off sessions when you have a particular situation, decision or question you would like to work through. You can also book sessions on an ad hoc basis when something comes up.
For a particular area of work that needs more time, we may agree a programme of 4–12 sessions. This gives us time to look at the situation in more depth and review what is changing as you go.
We will review things regularly and decide together what would be useful to focus on next. The number and frequency of sessions can change as the work develops.

My Approach
I bring a curious, systemic and practical approach to coaching. I am interested not only in the issue you bring, but also in what is happening around it. This might include the people involved, your role, expectations, working relationships or patterns that you have noticed.
I don't have the answers for you, and I don't tell you what decisions to make. My role is to listen, ask questions and offer different ways of looking at a situation, so that you can make sense of what is happening and work out what feels right for you.
You remain responsible for your decisions and for what you choose to do with what comes from the coaching.
Workshops & Bespoke Programmes
I offer workshops and bespoke programmes for teams, groups and organisations. My approach draws on my experience in business transformation and Agile Coaching.
Workshops can focus on areas such as:
-
Navigating organisational change
-
Team relationships and dynamics
-
Communication and collaboration
-
Leadership and personal development
-
Working with uncertainty and complexity
-
Understanding patterns within teams
The content of each workshop is discussed beforehand and shaped around the group, the situation and what you would like to explore.
Workshops can take place online via Zoom or in your workplace.
For organisations looking for longer-term support, I can also offer bespoke programmes combining workshops, coaching and constellation-based work.
We can discuss what would be useful and agree the format and number of sessions together.
Engagement & Fees
Workshops and bespoke programmes are available for teams, organisations and groups.
Fees and arrangements are agreed depending on the type of work, number of people and format.
