Craniosacral Therapy
A gentle invitation to slow down and reconnect
In person in the Cotswolds · Online sessions available

What is Craniosacral Therapy?
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle complementary therapy and a whole-person approach.
It works with the body’s own ability to balance and restore, and can help to reduce stress and support the nervous system. Because the treatment is gentle, it is suitable for people of all ages, from babies to older adults.
I work gently, and my approach is informed by patient-led Fascial Unwinding.
Many people find the treatment relaxing. Some notice changes in their breathing, warmth, tingling or movement, while others simply enjoy having time to rest.

What to Expect
At your first session, we will talk about how you are feeling, what has brought you to therapy and anything you would like me to know.
I will also take a short case history.
For the treatment, you remain fully clothed and lie comfortably on the treatment couch. I use light touch and work with what I notice in your body during the session.
You may notice changes in your breathing, warmth, tingling, movement or areas of tension. You may simply feel relaxed. Everyone responds differently.
Children
Craniosacral Therapy can be used with babies and children. I adapt the session to their age and needs, and they don't need to lie still.
Treatment can take place while they are playing, resting or sleeping. I usually suggest bringing their favourite toy or comfort blanket with them.
Online sessions
Distant Craniosacral Integration sessions take place via Zoom and can be done from your own home.
Before the session, you will need:
-
A comfortable place where you can lie down without being disturbed
-
Headphones
-
Uninterrupted time for the duration of the session
-
A good, stable internet connection
Once you are settled the session follows a similar approach to an in-person session. You can simply get comfortable and notice what you experience during the session.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
There is no set number of sessions. The number and frequency of appointments will depend on what you are working with, your personal circumstances and the pace at which your system is ready to work.
Some people come for one session, while others choose to have regular sessions for a period of time. I usually recommend considering a few appointments to give you time to see how you respond to the treatment.
We will review how things are going together and decide on the frequency of sessions that is appropriate for you.
My Approach
I work from a patient-led and trauma-informed perspective. This means I facilitate space for things to unfold, rather than following a set routine or trying to direct the process.
Patient-led Fascial Unwinding is an important part of my practice. I use this approach to work with the fascia and nervous system without forcing movement or trying to make the body change in a particular way.
I see the person rather than just the symptoms they have come with. My role is to listen, observe and work with you, rather than decide what your body should do.
